“Villain” Is The Very Best of JuJu Rossi
Breakups can be downright ugly. It’s a situation where both parties lose regardless of who may be at fault. Pain is the most significant by-product of relationships that fracture. I also find it a complex subject to talk about. This is why I am glad that JuJu Rossi is around. I know we are not alone, but heartbreak seems to follow us everywhere. The difference between the two of us is that JuJu Rossi can make it poetic through song. She has done a phenomenal job at this with her latest single, “Villain”.
Most female artists write songs that are easy to categorize. You can listen to them and focus on a specific emotion. “Villain” is not like that. We like to generalize because it’s easy; breakups, however, are anything but simple. A coping mechanism often used is placing all the blame on the other person. The villainization of someone else only makes matters worse. Usually, if the other side tries to fight it, they often make the lie look like the truth.
JuJu Rossi takes the high road with “Villain”. Separating the truth from fiction is not easy. Sometimes you have to dig deep and accept that you may never be able to put the pieces back together and be left with a scar. A blemish that will never heal and shouldn’t have ever been there. JuJu has taken a brutal topic and given it an elegant feel that makes her latest single heart-crushing and hopeful all at the same time.
“Villain” is only one example of why JuJu Rossi should be on your radar. She is one of the most talented artists we have featured here at Southern Fellow. Her climb hasn’t always been easy, but I don’t think we would be talking about her today without it. She harnesses struggle and pain and puts it to work better than anyone I have ever seen.
