Laine Lonero Grows Up with Her Latest Single “Tears Dry Up”
Family is what we have called readers and artists alike since the beginning. I’ve done at least five interviews about Southern Fellow, and every interviewer had a problem wrapping their head around the concept. They wanted to point to me as the sole reason this all works, but nothing could be farther from the truth. You, other readers, and the artists we feature are the actual building blocks of this family. We all are invested in each other like any other family. That said, we all get a front-row seat at watching each other grow. With her new single “ Tears Dry Up, “ country music artist Laine Lonero hit a big growth spurt with her music.
I liked Laine’s two previous singles, but the topics and overall sound pointed to a specific age group. However, “Tears Dry Up” is her first song for every age group. Laine Lonero is all grown up. Knowing her for a couple of years, I saw this coming, but what surprised me was how. I was expecting something more Taylor Swift like. A few songs or an EP that covered this transition in her life. Yet, her latest single oozes with confidence and maturity. Her childhood days of wishing and dreaming are done. She is in Nashville now to build her future, whatever it takes. “Tears Dry Up” is all the proof anyone needs to see that she is capable of doing just that.
Laine’s story is great, but “Tears Dry Up” is a damn good song that can stand on it’s own. First off, her vocals are spot on in this single. Secondly, I can say this song fits firmly in the country genre. It’s not some pop song sung in a southern accent. Lastly, it simply makes you feel good. As a guy, that’s saying a lot. I’m pretty sure when Laine sat down to write this single, I was far from her mind. Yet, I still feel the need to tap my feet and fist pump every time I listen to “Tears Dry Up”. It has this anthem quality to it, and I can see crowds of people singing along.
