Don’t Overthink “Overthink” the New Single from Andrea Vasquez

Quick fact about me. I overthink just about everything I do. Why? Because I have dreams I want to come true. Some I’m living right now, and others I hope can come to fruition in the near future. I know you all have goals as well. Each of you has shared so much with me, but honestly, it is the oversharing that has brought us closer. Because of it, I now know I’m not the only one who overthinks things. Today we find ourselves in good company with all of this. Andrea Vasquez gets vulnerable about this very topic with her latest single, “Overthink”.

It’s not manly for me to point out my weaknesses, but damn if you are not one of them. I started Southern Fellow for myself, but it has quickly become a home for all of you, and now it’s my responsibility to have it in tip-top shape. If you own or rent a home, you know how big of a task that is. I not only try to provide quality content, but I now host shows and give our artists a platform so they can connect to all of you and flourish. There are a lot of moving pieces, and I often catch myself looking at Southern Fellow as a chessboard with everyone waiting on me to move. It’s easy to get lost and overthink things in a game that’s no game at all. Competing against yourself is a sure way to develop doubt and lose at turning dreams into reality.

Luckily I have friends who know how to reboot me when I circle an idea for too long. Today, it’s an honor to add Andrea Vasquez to that list. That circling often happens when I review a song from a female artist, but today I didn’t overthink her latest single, ”Overthink”. This song hit me at the core of who I am and made me feel more connected to Andrea. I think you might feel the same way.

If I could give one piece of advice to Andrea Vasquez, it would be to keep putting one foot after another and not circle about like I often do. I admit I had doubts, but Andrea has squashed them with her small feet and huge songwriting prowess. For me, it all started with “Used To,” and now “Overthink” has solidified Andrea as one of my favorite songwriters.
