“Nights Like These” Country Artist Stephanie Ryann Makes Us Reflect
I wanted to write a piece about my thoughts on the pandemic, but really had a hard times finding the words. That was until last week when my friend Stephanie Ryann released “Nights Like These”. Almost instantly after the first listen my brain was able to unpack everything.
As funny as it may sound for someone who has spent time in the spotlight, I have never really considered myself a social butterfly. After all of this however, I have realized I still want to be around people. I miss family birthdays, Karen’s smiling face at my local Starbucks and the chance to meet all my Instagram family face to face. Stephanie Ryann included. I really hope “Nights Like These” keeps reminding me of how much these connections mean to me whenever things start to be normal. The lack of connection led to something else notable too.
Let’s admit it. When this all started it was dog eat dog over toilet paper and other necessities. The sad part is it didn’t have to be that way. It was just a reaction to the fear of the unknown. The clouds are starting to pull back ever so slightly and there is a gold lining. Being starved of human interactions has made people nicer. We all have started to think about other people a little bit more and the world is better for it. Let’s hope it doesn’t another global tragedy to remind us to love one another.
I hope you all have nights, days and mornings filled with all of the connections that make your heart full. Thank you Stephanie for reminding all of us what’s important. I hope someday soon we can get together, catch up, and say “I hope we have more nights like these!”.
