“It’ll Still be a Merry Christmas” Country Music Artist Cat Lines Hits Home in 2020
This year there is no doubt that the holidays will be different. This fact hit home with me during a conversation with my grandparents the other day. My grandmother brought it to my attention. For the first time, our family gathering for Christmas has been canceled. That is over 65 years of our family meeting under the Christmas tree. This heartbreaking story is not mine alone. Many families will find themselves in a similar situation this year. As difficult as this sounds, Christmas will not be canceled. The way we celebrate might look and feel a bit different, but the spirit of the holiday season is within us. Country music artist Cat Lines shares a similar sentiment in her latest holiday single, “It’ll Still be a Merry Christmas”.
When I first met Cat, I thought she was creative, while at the same time more rigid than what I have come to expect from musical artists. While the first part of that sentence held up, the second part did not. Cat Lines is not rigid at all. She is all heart and filled with passion aimed at those she loves and music. “It’ll Still be a Merry Christmas,” her first holiday track, is a product of that.
“It’ll Still be a Merry Christmas” is Cat putting her heart out there. Like many of us, she has struggled to navigate the good and bad that 2020 has brought. Each day as we get closer to Christmas, the positives become harder to find. Yet, they are still there. If we are going to survive this time of year emotionally, we need to try our hardest to find them. It can always be a merry Christmas if we look for the joy around us.
One of my biggest joys of 2020 is Cate Lines. Without this year, we could have easily crossed paths and never taken the time to connect at a deeper level. I do not doubt that her heart is going to drive her to achieve big things. Cat wants to feel connected with those around her, and that means you. “It’ll Still be a Merry Christmas”, she hopes helps with that. All you have to do is listen. Everything you need is below.
