Stephanie Ryann Focuses On Living the Life You Want in Her Latest Single”I Should”
When I first came across Stephanie Ryann, I thought she was a New York model using country music to add another feather to her hat. It did not take long to realize I was wrong. It looked like we were on opposite sides of the track, but we had more in common than one might think. She is holding on to traditional country music, more than many artists in Nashville. Stephanie’s music led to our unlikely friendship and it has been a pleasure to watch her grow. She is proof that hard work pays off. That proof today is in her latest single, “I Should”.
In the beginning, I always had in my mind the box country music artists should fit in. With Stephanie, it was like trying to put that same box in a round hole. I could twist and turn it, but no matter what I did, it was not going to fit. Just when I thought all was lost, she showed up with a backhoe and made a hole so big that she not only her but other artists could fit in regardless of shape or size. This is the spirit of “I Should” and a lesson I learned from Stephanie Ryann herself.
People are going to size you up and tell you what you need to change to fit in. Think back to school when you learned your shapes. You started with squares, triangles, and circles. Then, did things get exciting? You got to meet new shapes like octagons and trapezoids. As we get older, we pay big money for art that throws those traditional shapes out the window. “I Should” brings into focus that we as people come and all different forms. If you are a square, be a square. Don’t change because it makes someone else feel better.
It is spectacular watching Stephanie Ryann grow in her music. “I Should” seems like a pretty significant growth spurt for her musical career. Being such, it deserves a spot on your playlist.
