“Girl in Your Song” the nostalgic single from Natalie Goodman

I want to say up front that Natalie Goodman and I are friends. We are good enough friends that honesty is a big part of the glue that binds us. This review will be my true thoughts on Natalie’s new single “Girl in Your Song”

Right off the bat I am going to say that her latest single “Girl in Your Song” hit me much harder than her debut single “Just a Friend”. These songs are good in their own right, but her latest single has such a powerful feeling of nostalgia. It connects me to a time in my life when love was something a little more pure and simple. It punches you in the gut and then twist and turns them until you almost lose it. Just like it felt the very first time in high school. The funny part is that it is not told from the male perspective like George Strait’s song “Check Yes or No”. “Girl in Your Song” is told from the female’s perspective.

Natalie Goodman does it in such a way that it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with the girl in the song. Then as with any good country song Natalie adds a little heartbreak. The girl loves someone that neglects to see qualities that you the listener have fallen in love with. Toward the end of the song you really want to tell that girl to forget that loser and let her know you want the same things. It really is powerful to have a song that makes you want to interact with it in such a way. If I could write a music, I would love to write a song in response from the guy’s perspective.

“Girl in Your Song” is really worth a listen and would be a great addition to your playlist. You can get your digital hands on it using the link below. Also down there you can check out our full interview with Natalie Goodman. Thank you for stopping by The Luncheonette. We will see you next time.
