I am going to be honest. I love Melanie Meriney. We have been friends since I first started bringing music to Southern Fellow. Normally I can tell you the exact reason and point in time I connected with someone. However, with Melanie this is just not the case. It seems like I always knew her. Like an old friend, It feels like we always have had a connection. So when I talk about her music it can come across as bias.

However, this is who Melanie Meriney is. In her personal life she is always trying to connect with the people around her. In her music, her well crafted lyrics and voice tell the story that makes you want to connect. This is on display on her new single “Flame”.

I personally have never experienced the same love lost in “flame”. However, Melanie’s lyrics draw me in and makes that space feel familiar and the emotions real. This is no easy feat for a songwriter. Yet, Melanie makes it seem easy to pull you into the story and deliver you back after going through all the emotions. This very reason is why you need to check out “Flame” and all of Melanie’s music.
